I. MSTX Accounts

. Fiscal Report submitted by Jan Banner

. Brief review of By Laws

. Executive Board Members

. File Non-profit status, we are a non-profit

. Annual filing - commercial was sent to Gloria Hedridy, annual filing was a bitbehind

. Secured Vincent Lewis Accounting San Antonio

. Commendations to Jan Banner: Fred Walker moved to accept the report, Gena Woodard second the board unanimously agreed.

II. Conference Comments

. Highs - Dr. Flores, what are the highlights of the conferences profiling the students and school tours.

. Gina Rigsby agreed we need to showcase our students/school tours

. Jan Banner thinks we need to continue the $1,000 Superintendent scholarship. Criteria established - a graduate from magnet school would be recipient. How to select student? What area of district, name committee. Give scholarship to student in the district (hosting), the conference.

. Jan Banner - we need feedback on who receives the scholarship . Dr. Flores suggested Jan Banner talk to the group from San Antonio to see if the scholarships were awarded.

. Gina Rigsby - Ruby and Gena will work on this committee to research and work on their scholarships.

. Gina Rigsby we need to have criteria in writing "Superintendent's Scholarship" no name as of yet, the committee will come up with the rest of criteria and name of the scholarship program.

III. NAEE, Conference, Membership

. Jan/Gina - we need to come up with a better process of how districts pay their MSTX dues. Gina had a print out of only about 30 individuals who have paid.

. Aldine (Melinda Stapley), will handle the registration through the Magnet Office . Gina will get with Melinda and the two will come up with a plan.

. Gina - forms for Glenn Hardrick Merit award

. Dr. Flores - Addressing Innovation Improvement Through Excellence and Equality

. Gina- Early registration by Sept. 16th, fees that same early bird fee $150, non

member $175; after Sept. 16th, fee $175, non-member $200.

. MSTX Proposals post marked by September 2,2005, Merit awards due by September 24, 2005.

IV. Webmaster

. Jackie DeLuna - tech person for website if she is able to continue, Gina are there

any recommendations to continue.

. Jan will get in touch with Hershey H.S. to check on the format for the website.

We would need to recruit a person to do the website.

V. Conference Presentation

. Looking at the "Conference Presentation Proposal" form, it is adequate

. Dr. Mardee Pederson - do we want to distinguish the audience and level (K-4, 8­

12 etc...).

. This is already there - so we could include "Global Studies" and "International

Baccalaureate" we will have only 32 slots for presentations

· Dr. Flores said we should add Charter School and Dr. Abe Saverede

VI. Tentative Conference Schedule

· Gina/Dr. Flores - design a program such that is flows better

· Exhibitors - should just come on Saturday, October 22,2005. Mardee has some connections

. Charge exhibitors/vendors $100 per table

· Maggie Awards will not change (considering ribbons being placed on table).
